Understanding Your Report

Risk Levels Explained

Each clause is assigned a risk level based on potential impact to you.

Critical

Immediate attention required. Could expose you to significant financial or legal risk.

High

Carefully review before signing. May limit your rights or increase liability.

Medium

Worth discussing with the client. Could be improved but not deal-breakers.

Low

Minor concerns. Standard terms that slightly favor the other party.

Alternative Language Suggestions

For each risky clause, we provide suggested alternative wording that's more balanced. Use these as a starting point when negotiating with clients.

"Payment shall be due within thirty (30) days of invoice date. Late payments shall accrue interest at 1.5% per month."

Example of fairer payment terms

Best Practices

  • Always review the full contract, not just flagged sections—context matters.
  • Use our suggested alternatives as a starting point for negotiation, not final language.
  • Export important reports to PDF for your records.
  • Re-analyze if the contract is significantly revised after negotiation.
  • Remember: This tool is for preliminary screening. For complex contracts or high-stakes deals, always consult a qualified attorney.
